
Biography
Mr. Mazid Ishtique Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the
Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Atish Dipankar
University of Science and Technology (ADUST) and serves as the Chairperson of
Bangladesh’s first B.Sc. in Robotics and Automation Engineering program in a
private university. With a graduate degree in EEE from Brac University and an
undergraduate degree from Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology
(AUST), Mr. Ahmed’s research spans mathematical modeling, robust and adaptive
control, AI & Machine Learning, and IoT. Actively engaged in supervising
undergraduate research in smart systems and IoT, he also leads skill
development initiatives through technical workshops and seminars for EEE and
Robotics and Automation Engineering students. He is the recipient of the Best
Graduate Research Award from Brac University in 2022.
Since June 2022, Mr. Ahmed has held the position of
Additional Director of ADUST’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). As
a trainer for Effective Teaching and Learning, he has completed rigorous
training in OBE curriculum design, assessment techniques, pedagogy, and faculty
workshops. These efforts support the seamless delivery of engineering program
theory and lab courses. His scholarly contributions include numerous journal
publications and conference presentations, including IEEE TENCON in 2016 and
2021, as well as reviewing responsibilities for IEEE conferences. With a solid
background in national ICT projects, including Bangladesh’s Machine Readable
Passport initiative, where he served as an Associate System Support Specialist
with Data Edge Limited, Mr. Ahmed brings both academic and industrial
experience to his role.
